Heard from my friend that the dealer who sold him his G35 said that the stock navi does not play dvds...However, with a chip that you can install in the machine that holds the navigation dvd, you can then play mp3's and dvds..

I was skeptical at first, but if the dealer said it...that makes me wonder if theres a better way to play dvds.

 

More than likely, the dealer has heard that the stock nav can play DVD's and made up how it is done either for simplicity or stupidity.
