I think you could just go to a place that does the clear bra and get them to put some new stuff on there. Mine were catching my eye but seemed to fit, visually... ...until I removed them and the curves in that area suddenly were no longer muted.

clinty - That was my statement quoted above and no, I don't have an engine-block heater and the rectangle was on the passenger side. Almost certain it was protecting a repaired/repainted scuff suffered during transport to the dealer, as it was much thicker than the other clear films on the car. Dealership did explain damage before repairing, BTW, and nothing is noticeable, so no complaints.

As for scuffing the side sills, I'm still comfortabel with my choice to remove the plastic film. I rarely have passengers (married w/kids and the wife has the big vehicle) and I step directly onto the pavement when exiting or the floorboard when entering. I've seen this stuff left on for years and hate what happens to it, especially in such a dirty place as the doorjambs. The front of the rear fenders is my only area of concern. Hopefully I'll be lucky.

its not for rock chips, Nissan isnt responsible for rock chips. It's disturbed airflow due to the car's aerodynamics. That they are resposible for, hence they spent 5 cents on the clear material. That area will be slowly, but surely, sandblasted over time. You wont notice overnight.

Why wouldn't the same hold true for some of the leading edges of the front bumper, etc.? I have a feeling that by the time something like this occurs then you're well out of your warranty anyway.
