Hi everyone. I know this is a long post but I really hope that everyone on this board can offer me some precious advice. I have been thinking of trading in my 2004 FX45 (with every option besides chrome wheels and DVD entertainment) for a manual G35 coupe. Now since the changes of the 2006 model has come out and several dealers tell me that I can get a manual coupe in early November, I am seriously thinking if it is worth the wait. Even though the 2006 changes seems to be an improvement, especially the headlights that the FX has at the moment, one of my biggest concern is the difference in value when I sell my car in May 2007. I know that getting a nice car should be my biggest concern and that the resale value shouldn't be the priority. However, I really feel that the changes aren't really that significant. I noticed that according to kbb, my FX45 was valued at around $40000 in May for trade-in value, however it is only worth approximately $37500 at the moment. Does this sound reasonable to you guys? I know that the trade in value should drop as the new model year is going to be produced, however is the drop that significant? If I want to get a 2006 G35 coupe, which will be available in November, I know that the resale value of that will be better than getting a 2005 model. However, it is possible for me to get a good deal on the 2005 remaining on the dealer lots right now. Can anyone please help me out and give me some advice. Thanks in advance.
