Need your opinions: Skyline rebadging

I need your opinions on rebadging. I'm thinking of getting some, if not all, of the badges replaced on my coupe with JDM Skyline ones. I'm kind of torn on it though. On the one hand, I want to customize and put Skyline badges on, but on the other I prefer that the car is an Infiniti and not a Nissan.

So what do you think of rebadging and partial rebadging?

Partial rebadging is just confusing and inconsistent, IMO. Infiniti 350GT Skyline does not sound right.

I also feel that if you rebadge, you should go all the way and do the seats, steering wheel cover, carpets, and clock. That way you have a Nissan, not a Nissan/Infiniti hybrid.

i agree with pdiddy, the only thing keeping me from rebadging is the seats.

Do what you want man..it's your car. But the reality is...here in the US Infiniti is a luxury car. IMHO I think your cheapening the car by putting Nissan Emblems on it...would you put Toyota logo's on a Lexus??

But if your "racer" or skyline fanatic, rebadge it. Again, its your car!

Of course he will do whatever he wants... unfortunately he can't decide, which is why he asked for our opinion on rebadge or no rebadge. My opinion is don't rebadge.

This has been beaten to death, but once more won't hurt I guess.

Personally I prefer the original badging that comes on the car. To me, anything else moves the car along side other cars (to remain nameless) that pose as something they're not.

If a person does rebadge, then I prefer to see them rebadge the entire car. Inside, outside, the clock, the seats, everything.

Mixed badging is half-a$sed. Do it all, or go ahead and bolt a big aluminum wing on the back.

This is going to be a re-hash of a topic that is very polarized. It should be entertaining.

The only thing "skyline" I would get are the door sills, no one would ever see them or really notice them...it would be like a homage to the 11 generations of skylines...but I would keep everything else G35!

Badging to SKYLINE badges seem common. Just leave it as it is or debadge fully

Thanks for the replys all. It seems overwhelming opinion is not to rebadge. I'm almost certain I don't want to remove all Infiniti logos - I bought an Infiniti, not a Nissan - so I'm leaning towards just keeping all the Infiniti stuff on. Maybe just a Skyline Plate Frame will do

Mario: I was actually thinking of doing exactly that, just replacing the door sills with Skyline ones. I think that would be a nice subtle homage to the legacy of the car.

Out here in California where G35's are literally "Dime a dozen", everytime I see one with the Skyline 350GT, we just laugh at them. You might be able to pull that in a place where people don't know much about G35's and Skylines.

I think this picture better represents the Skyline badge than the rice bowl. haha
