Jtrain-

Is that OEM lip? Did you install yourself? I am getting one (OEM), but unsure if I have drill holes or use 3M double sided tape or both????

Thanks....

The front lip comes with detailed instructions, and yes you will have to drill about 5-6 holes or so...

I recommend it. It definitely helps to give the G's front end an edge!

actually, i don't think it gives you less clearance. it appears to end right at where the oem bumper ends. i installed it myself on my coupe and found no difference.

I have been thinking about getting the OEM front lip. I am concerned about the clearance issue. Perhaps it's not as bad, as I thought it might be.

Agreed and I even speculated this without ever seeing it installed (came ordered like that for me)....if anything, it makes the car look like it has a higher clearance...

Looks like a new OEM front chin spoiler is in the very near future for my G.

That is correct, I have compared mine next to another 05 and it doesn't give you less clearance.

you have to drill the holes into the bumper. you may want to follow the instructions and to the underside holes too for extra security. there have been a couple members who have had their front lip ripped off by parking dividers. they didn't install the underside clips on their front lip spoiler.

Good question. I hope the paint holds, since I just installed the front lip last nite. Oh and by the way, after spending a few hours under the car fussing with all the fasteners, I can tell you that the front lip only adds about 1/4 inch less of clearance. Pretty much the thickness of the plastic is what is below the front bumper. That little 1 inch tall air dam thing under the bumper sits lower than the lip. If you don't have problems scraping with that, then you won't scrape with the lip.
