supercharging quick question
And I thought I had hi-miles at a hair under 40K miles for an 03...
Nevertheless, as long as the 75K mile were well maintaned, you should have NO problems throwing a supercharger on it. What usually destroys supercharged engine with low or even high miles, is POORY tuned supercharger units / fuel & ignition setups that cause the premature failure, not so often directly the engine's fault. Detonation is the NUMBER ONE cause of engine failure with superchargers and that's something that can be eliminated on a properly tuned setup.
All in all, if the charger is setup properly and within a reasonable amount of "street boost" (4-8psi), the fuel and ignition (timing) is on cue, and the engine is maintained well (oil & fluids changed and checked timely), you'll be just fine!
I sold my RMS supercharged 95 M3 with 90K miles, and the charger was on for 40K of those miles with no problems. I sold my Powerdyne supercharged 99 GMC Denali with 120K miles, and the charger was on that truck for 90K miles without any problems as well (but I did rebuild the engine at 50K miles - Turned the 350 into a 383). No charger yet for the G, but I am shopping around (hint hint)...
