Help on purchasing '05 6mt

Hello all!

First off i'll introduce myself: My name is Damon and i currently own a 00 Prelude and i'm probably going to pick up a DG on Graphite 05 6mt with Premium, Navi, Sport, Aero w/o spoiler (basically fully loaded).

I'm located in SoCal and found one at a local Infiniti. So far the sticker price is $38,000 and i got the dealer to give the car to me for $1200 over invoice. After taxes and licensing, i'll probably get the car right at sticker.

Am i getting a decent deal on this with the 06's just around the corner? The dealer tells me the 05 6mt probably won't get any cheaper as the fully loaded 6mt's are hard to come by. Plus the 06's rolling off the truck will be automatics and the 6mt's won't come till later, thus making the 6mt's that much more desireable.

Is the dealer all BS? I can probably get the price down to $1000 over invoice, but still wondering if that's a good deal.

Thanks in advance!

i got mine in chicago with black on black and i got EVERYTHING and we got it for 37,800 and after taxes and licenses and everything it was $40,200

and that was about 1200 over invoice.

I dont think you can get the 6mt for less than 1k over invoice just because they're so ****ing hot out in the states. The dealership i went to had 28 auto's and 2 6spd's, and the next closest one only had one 6spd

I guess it all depends on where you are and who you know. I am in L.A. and I got my G for $500 over invoice, not sticker. It is true that the 6MT's are harder to find. I got a Laser Red 6MT and I had to drive almost 2 hours to pick it up. The dealer I got it from had to trade with another dealer to get me the LR G with a 6MT. The only other LR G anywhere in the area was a 5AT that they had in the showroom. My homie knows the fleet manager which is why I got it at $500 over invoice. I really got hooked up. Like I said, it all depends on who you know!

Yah i believe that. The only reason i'm getting quoted at $1200 over invoice is because i'm doing the no haggling thing because i know the head mechanic at the dealership. I just wanna make sure i'm not spending too much for something that isn't worth it. Thanks for the feedback thus far. More is appreciated!

I'm actually picking up my new 6MT G for $300 over invoice in the Atlanta metro area this Saturday. I'm having to travel 2 hours to get there so it's not bad. Atlanta has about 4 or 5 dealerships in the area so I basically haggled with all of them till one gave me the price I wanted.

Sounds like a decent deal to me, but since you live in SoCal it might be worth a shot to throw that price at a few other dealerships in your area and see if they will beat it. Can't hurt.

What dealership are you being quoted from??? I just bought my 05 6MT last weekend with same thing you want (navi, premium, splash guards, trunk mat) for $200 over invoice. I paid $38,520 out the door. I live in OC so got 7.75% for sales tax. I've been shopping around and the prices I've been quoted ranged from invoice to $1800 over. I couldnt get the exact car I wanted at invoice so ended up paying $200 over.

Out the door or before taxes + licensing?

36K is a damn good deal...at least the best that i've seen so far! how much was the price of the car before TTL?? what color did u get? im about to venture into a dealer nearby and im trying to gauge a firm set price to go wit before dealing wit the salesman. i hope that being it is the end of the month & 06s are right around the corner...i can find me a steal!

the car im looking at is an 05 6MT DG w/ Prem, Navi & Aero Package ! im kinda psyche after seeing what u paid!
