Help! Paint all over my G

Hey all, need your help, please. A few weeks back a trash truck passed me and ran over a full paint can. The can exploded and splatter coated my driver's side, splashed down on my roof and rear deck, and even managed to seep over some to the passenger side.

Any recommendations on how to remove this %$^#! paint would be soooo appreciated. The thought of having a green speckled Twilight Blue G just isn't working for me. Thanks everyone!

Did you happen to notice the name on the truck? They should be liable for your damage. A few weeks back is quite a bit of time gone by.

I'd give it a shot. They should have a trash truck, which is splattered with green paint. You've got nothing to lose. Good luck!

Oh damn, I would be SO pissed off.... I would think it would be really hard to remove the paint without damaging your car paint unless they have bases have different solvents. Have you tried talking to your insurance company to see if there is anything they can do? 'Cause getting it repainted will cost quite a bit, if the insurance company will cover at least some of the cost maybe look to getting a custom job if you have the spare $ and have your G stand out some more.

You know what works GREAT and I'm not kidding... GAS! Get a small rag, some gas, and wipe away your blues. Just be gentle. It will wipe away any wax you have the car, but that's OK. Just rewax it. Now, like I said just be gentle, don't rub into the paint too much. You won't hurt the car or the paint / clear coat as long as you wipe it on and wipe it off (dont let it sit there for a long time - just to be safe). Its also a good idea to keep some soap and water handy. After you get the paint off, wash away the gas residue with the soap and water. Trust me, it'll work!!! Work each spot of paint individually.... Try a small area and see for yourself, oh and last but not least, it is still gas so becareful!

It is not that hard to do it with gas. Like ducatiguy said just wipe it gently and it should go away.

It's kind of crazy, but I think brake fluid works too. I don't think it's as strong of a solvent as gas though. Just clean it with soap and water afterwards.

When i was living in the ghetto while attending USC some worthless piece of **** graffitied the back of my car (99 Cougar). Gasoline works great to take that stuff off and it didn't hurt the paint at all.

I'd try Goo Gone first. No reason to use fuel as a cleaner if an actual cleaner will work. At $.99/bottle, it's worth trying first.

As others said, gas should work as long as you don't rub too hard. If you doubt yourself let a body shop guy do it. A few years ago a house painter wasn't careful and got paint all over my new black car. He offered to pay for the damage so I took it to a body shop. They had a chemical that took off the paint without damaging the car's paint finish. Looked brand new again.

you left it on there for weeks? I'm sure most of the suggestions above (excluding brake fluid :/) would work on fresh paint. But weeks??!!! ouch
