This may have been brought up before. I might also be crazy, but does anyone else see a startling resemblance here?

I haven't seen one in person so maybe they look nothing alike. I noticed this when I saw some add that was all "Click here to see the new sexiness" and it had a picture of the G6 coupes rear quarters, and I was like "oh, it's the G35" so I clicked it and it took me to pontiac.com.

Anyone else think this is kind of comical?

 

If you see one in person they look much more like the last gen Mercury Cougar than the G. Still, I can see why they try to make it look like the G in their advertising.

 

It's amazing how they copied Infiniti's advertising look, and they even copied the name and subtracted 29 from 35.

 

I don't see the resemblence. Looks more like a Solara

but the marketing style is like the G

 

Tail lights definately resemble that of a solara. however, the lines of the windows kinda resemble the G.

 

Front end screams Honda Accord to me...

 

I've seen them in person.... They don't look like much more than the next gen grand am that they really area....

 

Barely any resemblance in my opinion, besides maybe the rear quarter panel..

Only reason it might look the same is the backround and the color of the car are throwing you off. They didn't realy "copy" any advertising.. I'm pretty sure there are plenty of car manufacturers that have taken photos of their cars with black backrounds.

 

A lot of coupes have the same roofline and c-pillar as the G35 Coupe does. Its a common look. Look at a 911 from the side, and from above, and you will see some similarities between the G35 as well.

 

It's a mix of Accord Coupe, Toyota Solara and G35 Coupe. Hints of Scion tC from certain angles as well. So basically, all the new coupes look the same now.

OK, looks are one thing, but isn't the G6 a dressed up Cavalier? Doesn't that alone make you look at the G6 with a grimace?
