Audi A4 3.2 vs G35 coupe
I have a important descision to make:
I love G35's ans A4's and I know they dont compare but I have to buy a car in this year and I am deciding between the two. Mind you live in seattle and there is alot of rain. G35 Pros: -Gorgeous and the women love it. -More horsepower and more fun -Easily modded A4 -AWD of course -Better MPG -4 doors, capable of seating 5 Basically I need your opinions. Please. |
Everyone on this forum is going to be biased towards the G35...A4's are nice though.
Pick the one that suits you the best. Good luck. |
Get the S4!!
|
if ur under 25, might as well have fun while u still can, before u actually need those 4 doors.

I live in Kirkland, right across from seattle, and i think the G is perfect. I was looking at the new quattro a4 before this even though they arent really the same and i am glad i went with the G. If you are just worried about the rain, the G will be fine, but if you plan on going to the mountains to ski or board, well your SOL with the G. In my unbiased opinion becasue I love both cars, go with the G and you will be way happier. Just dont get black like me becasue as soon as it rains you will kill yourself for it and then drive home really quickly to wash your car.

German cars break down. A lot of Audis end up in the shop. But the Audi really is a nice looking car.

It really depends on what u want from the car.
I have an '03 G35C and my boyrfiend has an Audi S4. The G is amazingly looking very very very stylish ... attention getting, and overall fast. It is luxurious but not as much as u would probably expect out of it, because it seems like that wasn't their main focus when they designed the car. The audi on the other side has first and most importantly the AWD which is an unbelievable advantage. i can't even think about driving my G35 in the winter (i work in Wisconsin). The audi also has very very neat interior design and all sorts of cool luxury features that the infiniti lacks ... and yes if u like the 4 doors and may on various occations have more than 2 ppl in the car ... then go with the audi. however consider the fact that well the audi is too common, too regular ... if u want to stick out ... be noticed ... then go with the G! just a small recomndation if u want to go with the audi consider the S4, that thing is a monster. my boyfriend is close to pushing 400hp on the wheels, after doing all sorts of RS4 mods ... that thing is just way way way too fast ;) |
I'm in Redmond, just next to Kirkland, and I chose the G for the fun factor. I think it's a sexy car with handling and power as well. I also am a fan of the A4 though. I think it's a beautiful car, but not sexy. A little more body roll but great traction. Adequate power (far under the G though). With those in mind, and the fact I don't have kids yet, I chose the G. Honestly, I don't think the A4 gets better gas mileage, at least not substantially.
I also ski but have a second vehicle to take me there so I can't help you in that department. If you have to get up to the slopes every weekend, get the A4. But if you like to hit the slopes on occasion, have your friend(s) drive and get the G. And I agree on not getting black. It's not like we've had much rain in the past couple of years, but as you know, it 'sprinkles' a lot. My last vehicle was black and I was detailing that thing once a week. Good luck. |
How do you guys figure the A4 gets better MPG???
I get better get mileage than my friends A4 1.8 Turbo. Those turbo's and AWD drink a lot of gas guys. |

My A4 1.8 turbo got about 30mpg....your friend must be driving really really really fast...(if that's even possible in the A4) the onboard computer would consistently show 500+ miles till empty from one tank of gas |
One of my cars before my g35c was an A4. I had the v6 and it had an ok amount of power. Looking back after driving the G, the audi would feel weak.
I loved that car, it was luxurious and fit like a glove. The thing that made me get rid of it was the maintenance. Every month my repairs were more than my payment. At this point after two VWs and one Audi, I would never consider them again. I kept thinking it was my car and not the brand. I was wrong. VW and Audi are a nightmare to maintain. With that said, if I could afford an RS6, I might just change my mind. |
i like the new body of the 05 A4, but the G is still faster and nicer
|
'06 A4 2.0T = 22/30mpg
'06 A4 3.2 = 19/26 So the A4 3.2 is about the same as my G in terms of gas mileage. The 1.8T is similar to the 2.0T in terms of mileage. One more thing to keep in mind, I think Audis cover your oil changes and standard maintenance whereas Infiniti does not. |

I have friends who own A4's and there always in the shop. |
Audi's are some of the most unreliable cars on the market. All the way down there with Isuzu and Daewoo in the latest JD Power and Associates 2005 VDS I'd keep that in mind.
