I only use 93 octane. The noise is from the rocker arms, you can hear the tap tap tap when you accelerate, the noise gone once you let off the gas.
The car has no engine mods, except for the Z tube and K&N but that cant be causing it. I agree that u shouldn't hear it on a car with 7500 miles but its there. It does not do it when the car is cold although I have only owned it for 6 months and have not gone through a NY winter yet.

What kind of oil do you use? Sounds like you need an additive to help silence the lifters.

It hard to troubleshoot an engine noise problem without hearing it yourself. My thoughts are that you may not have a valve lash problem. I'd recommend you vist your local friendly Infiniti dealer.

Your VQ35DE engine doesn't have rocker arms nor do most (all?) overhead cam engines. Nissan/Infiniti calls their cam followers "lifters". The clearances are normally between 0.012" and 0.017" depending on if the clearance is an intake/exhaust, is cold or hot and which year engine you have. Normally most if not all of the valve lash noise goes away once the engine reaches temperature and te clearances close up.
