Center brake light access??

anyone know how to get to the center break light assembly?? the one on the rear deck (not the spoiler one).

My dealer added the spoiler but i also have the rear deck center break light. Was thinking I may want to pull the bulbs out of it, since i have the LED center spoiler brake light.

any ideas on how to get to it??
some detailed instructions would be very helpful!

Re: Center brake light access??

I've been there, and would be glad to help. This is where I installed my SAT/XM antenna, totally stealth.
From the passenger side of the unit, there are two tabs about an inch and a half in from the left and right sides of the unit. These tabs are "L" shaped, with the foot of the "L" facing the front of the car. A puddy knife would be great, or a very thin screw driver will be used to push the tab to the rear of the car. When both tabs are pushed toward the rear of the car, the unit can be lifted up and slide towards you when you are in the back seat. Inside the housing, there is a connector for the brake lights. Just disconnect, and that should turn off those series of lights. Hope this helps.
