Button is in front of the shifter. It works just like the M45 shifter. On the M45 it sits even lower though. The good part is that it's already about 3/4" lower than the stock 2003 shifter.
The button is easier to push on the M45 though. Because of the height of the internals on the G35 shifter, you have to push a bit harder. But it's still a very smooth operation. The **** is also held on with the original retaining clip mechanism, so it's very sturdy and doesn't move around when driving.

I participated in this car survey a few weeks ago. They had a few engineers from car companies come by and check out your car. They seemed very intrigued by my shifter. They thought that I had eliminated the manumatic mode. I had to let them turn on the car and move the shifter around to convince them that all the original functions were still present.

is there any way we can cut the damn shift **** rod to lower it.. damn i hate how it's so hight so retartded.. how much u pay for that shift ****? and u said it does lower it the height wit da m35 ****.. ? i have a 05 at coupe
anyone know if there's a thread which tells you how to modify the '05 AT shifter for a 2003 coupe? I know you have to fix the notch in the plastic, but I want to know what people used to do it. Thanks!

Never seen anyone put the 05+ AT shiftknobs into the older models. i think it would look wierd, because it has brushed alumunim down the middle and the previous models don't have any alluminum on there dash,
