Break-In Period, really necessary?

OK FWIW.
on each outing I ...
1. Avoid jack rabbit WOT starts.
2. Completely warm the engine b4 loading it
3. Smoothly ramp the load to WOT & run the revs up.
4. let it float easy up & down for a while & repeat 3 several times
I hate to say how many years & cars I've done this with, but it's a few.
3 in the garage right now, one with 135K km the other 189K km
I have never had a car that req'd oil to be added between changes.
The VQ is the same, it's still pretty new but with 26K km not a drop between changes.
