turning?
turning?
it seems like the car i had before my G, a 1995 lexus Ls400, turns tighter than my g even though it is a lot longer and is not a sports car. U turns that i could make with that car i cannot make with the G. can the g's turning radus really be that wide? anyone else noticed this?
never really noticed that actually.. I drive a truck for may primary car and its turning radius is much larger.. If you really have a problem making certain u-turns, just push the clutch in, blip the throttle and sidestep the clutch at the same time while cranking the wheel.. I'll guarantee that you make that U turn, and put a sh-t eating grin on your face at the same time...
i made a u-turn the other day that i had to smile about. 3 point turn? naw... just hit the gas a little hard, counter-steer, take a look at the girl sitting next to me and put a big grin on my face because i needed to smile for both of us (my girlfriend was not ammused)
Wheelbase on this car is very long - 112.2" - same as your LS400 I believe. That may be why it feels so different - the same wheelbase on a smaller (overall) car.
When it comes to u-turns wheelbase and turning dynamics make you or break you.
The wheel base on the G is very long when compared to other vehicles in the class.

I did notice the more "loose" turning on the g35 and I am really not that sure if this will make a distance, but with my 5AT, I put it in MM mode in 1st gear and I turn giving semi hard accelerating (lol sorry I know this isn't making much sense to the majority of the people that are reading this and all you 6MT owners must be lauging your asses off at this point :P ) not exactly stepping on the accelerator, but accelerating, letting go, and accelerating again until the turn is tight. When I had my old Range Rover, I used to pull the gear down to 2nd and take the turn which seemed to allow me to make tighter turns. Sorry for such a weird explanation and a little habit of my driving with the G, but it works for me and it just might work for you
