Stock intake vs. cold air
Stock intake vs. cold air
whats better? stock or cold air intake. i know short ram isn't that great because it decreasing low end torque, and im the kind of driver that loves low end torque. cold air not suppose to be as bad, but is it really much better? plus i live in a very rain place (rains almost everyday), is that a problem?
thanks

almost anything is better than stock. there's the z-tube replacement, that'll give you a little, jwt popcharger, stillen airbox, etc...Injen, Nismo CAI. lots of options. intake will usually have a few hp gain and loss of tq, but neither are noticeable. water is only a problem if you have a CAI without a bypass. go with FI if you want to go fast
I'd go with the 350Z intake tube and the Stillen cold air box. You get a free flowing tube with the Z tube, and a cone filter in a shielded compartment with the Stillen air box. Best of both worlds and it'll make you worry free about the rainy weather....which shouldn't be a real concern unless you plan on fording rivers.

No matter what you add, the only real difference is going to be in your ears (the altered sound) and in the seat of the your pants (caused by the altered sound).
Saying 'almost anything is better than stock' depends on how you value things. If you want to spend a couple of hundred bucks to make your car SOUND faster, go for it. If you really want your car to BE faster, save your money..
