Popping noise from rear

no not my rear! the G's rear! :)

Ok, so I can deal with all of the weird rattles and intermittent buzzing sounds from the interior but there's one noise that I can figure out. It's an intermittent 'popping' or 'click' sound coming from the rear of the car. Pretty sure it's in the interior. (No this is not the axle.)

I can't handle music early in the morning so I listen to NPR and this intermittent 'pop' 'click' is driving me nuts. I should probably have someone else drive the car while I sit in the back.

Anyone else getting this? Suggestions on where it might be? I doubt it's the rear dash/deck.

I'm sorry. Yes, it happens pretty much any time of day. You can be cruising along, accelerating slowly, taking an average turn, etc... The stereo isn't very loud at all (talk radio). It's bizarre. It's almost like it happens when the chassis or body twists just a tiny bit.

Not a click coming from the axle.

oppss.. sorry... you already said that once.... my bad

get into your back seat and start banging on top of the rear deck. That's how I eliminated some of my popping and rattling. Check your trunk too. I know it sounds easy but hey...you'd rather the fix be free right?

i get a popping/stutter feeling coming from the rear too.. but only during idle

Sounds like the noise is coming from your rear sway bar..put you car on the lift & retight your sway bar while you at it, put some grease/lube on the sway bar bushing. Also don't forget to check the end link as well. I am pretty much positive that may solve your problem.

And it NEVER goes away no matter how many times you take it back
hmmmm lemon law?

i also have this problem, brought it back to the dealer, they said they couldnt replicate the sound. I'm pretty sure its comming from the inside of the vehicle as well. It pretty much makes that popping sound anytime it wants to, but it seems like it occurs more often when u go over a bump. i would love to get rid of this problem!!! any suggestions??

I'll go under and tighten the sway bar. Gawd that would be nice to get rid of it. Listening to the Roberts hearing in the morning with that pop is ridiculous. It does sound like it's coming from the cab but the more I hear it, it does sound like a dull metallic noise. Perhaps it is suspension or chassis related and the sound is coming up through the floor. (This certainly isn't far fetched since I can hear a grains of sand clearly in the inner wheel wells when driving over the same.)

Thanks guys.

How odd, I got something like too. Though It's when just rolling, no accelerating, no braking, just in neutral, it sounds like a suspension thing for me or to me, you can especially hear it when in a mass parking garage just going slow, or if its night time and going slow with the windows down you can hear it. the sound is elimated w/ windows up obvious, but down i can hear, any suggestions as well?
