My G won't start!!!!!
My G won't start!!!!!
Yeah, so this morning I attempt to start my G to go to work and I guess the first try I did not hold the key in the start position long enough so it did not start. I let everything calm down for a few seconds and try again and the starter motor just turns over the engine and it won't start. I must have tried about 5 times, releasing the clutch and even tapping on the gas at the last attempt, BUT NOTHING!!!
Luckily I have my beater ride, my 10 year old Toyota Tacoma 4x4 that has 170k mi and runs perfect.
Has anyone ever had this problem or know what the cause is? Oh yeah, my car is like new, only 9500 mi and a year old and I have between 1/8-1/4 tank of gas parked inside of my garage in SoCal.
HELP!!!

Well, Im at work now and won't be able to try anything till I get home later this afternoon. Maybe I'll have the GF go try to start it....big risk though, don't know if Im willing to let her try...LOL
The battery is fine in the car. I don't think I tried removing the key completely. So, this problem could be the little computer chip in the key not sending the right signal to the car saying it's OK to start?
Thanks for the replies everyone.

If it was the key code, I don't think the motor would turn over at all... I'd call the dealer -- they should tow it to have it fixed.

I hope it doesn't come down to towing it to the dealer. I hope it will start when I get home tonight....gotta go out to dinner for my B-Day!!!
Another question, I guess by owning an Infiniti we have the 24 hr roadside assistance? Well, I never really think of that since I have AAA Gold. But, would Infiniti tow my car from my house to the dealership, about 40 miles away?

yes
its most likely the key.
You probably have a"NATS" code in your ECM right now stored as "difference of keys"
I don't know why but we get them occasionally and all the keys have to be reprogrammed. try starting it with one of your other keys but most likely it wont start.
Even if it does, goto the dealership with all your keys and have them scan for any NATS codes and have them reprogram all the keys.

I think if the code is not recognized the engine WILL turn over, but not catch. If it is turning over well, that suggests the battery is fine. I believe the towing is for up to two hundred miles to a dealer. Good luck!!
