Windshield Replacement (Horror)
I use my Coupe as my daily driver and I drive ALOT for work, I have a TB / Willow 04' w/ 42K miles on it which I still love to this day!
While driving last week a huge piece of concrete (size of your fist) dropped off the back of a truck and bounced 12-15 feet in the air right on my windshield!
So I called the insurance (0 deductible) company and they had a mobile service come out to my house install new glass. Well this guy starts to tear my car apart and as he is getting the weather stripping out of the way he puts a tear in it about 2" long and says (wow, they use alot of glue keeping this in there. You will never know that happened when I put it back together) I was thinking "ok, you will be replacing that). He finally gets the weather stripping out of the way and starts on the moldings above the door (these have to come off to replace the glass) and as he is prying at it with a tool he breaks 2 of the clips that hold it together. This guy said "I only busted 2 clips, there are 4 more to hold into place. You would have never known that happened if you were not watching me" and I said that is EXACTLY why I am watching you!
I had him right then and there stop and call it into his boss, as he is talking to him he said to his boss "this guy was watching me and saw this happen, most people would not even have known this happened after I put it back together, what should I do" (I could not belive this guy). His boss told him to put the car back together (without the new glass) and that they would order me new moldings and weather stripping for both sides before they come back out to do the job.
I was so irritated about this, I just had to vent...
Thanks
Triji

Call your insurance and complain to get it done BY INFINITI damnit...atleast Infiniti has all the clips, seals and whtever else you may need on HAND.
That is exactly why I watch all work done on my car....even the oil changes sometimes.
I had a tennis ball size rock just like yours, and it bounced off the top of a rig on the freeway along with a bunch of other little ones...but it was all like slow motion....couldn't swerve and before I knew it, it bounced on to my windsheild knicking it badly and then boucning over my car. The only reason it didn't crack or go through and kill me is because after I pulled over, I realized that it had clipped my lip on its way up to the windshield....thank god it cleared my hood...i can fix my lip myself....but the hood, no. We raced down and wrote the plates and anything else we could get, flipped the SOB driver off.
Next day try to hunt down the company name/phone on the internet and it doesn't even exist...the phone number was also disconnected...
They should make it illegal for those sons of bitches to share our roads.

if possible, try to get another company to do the windshield replacement, but still get the company that botched up the first time to either replace your clips/moldings or reimburse you for them..
it's a good thing you were watching, cause he clearly would have just left you with a bunch of broken clips and a not perfectly sealed windshield..
