Ok, well i've been reading a lot of threads and I see some people saying that the 6MT will not have the smart key. Is this true? Also, does anyone have a link so I could see exactly what is avail for the 06' ?

Actually, it's called rear active steer, and it's not really four wheel steering. It's the same option that's available on the M35/45 Sport models. It will be available on US market coupes as well (6MT models only).

The 6MT model will not have an option for Intelligent Key.

What is the reasoning behind not putting it on the 6MT as well?

For the same reason the AT doesn't have the 298 HP engine and didn't have brembo in 03 and 04 model year... Nissan are just plain and simply weird .

Do you know of any other manufacturers that put Intelligent Key on an MT car? I think the C6 corvette has it right? I thought it was due to the start up procedure with the I-Key. You have to depress the brake pedal, and push the start button, or turn the dummy key. With an MT you would have to depress the clutch and brake pedal, and push the start button or turn the dummy key. Maybe too many steps to start a vehicle...

agree w/ above post.

also, the 6mt doesn't get the "auto backup" seats, like the auto-trans models do.

I think it sucks, but it must be a safety thing with the manual tranny. Shorter people wouldn't be able to reach the clutch to start the car with the seat all the way back.

^^i think your right. i don't think they have it figured out for the manuals just right yet. they have a quirky requirement on the vette that forces u to park the car in reverse every time or the battery goes dead.

they have it figured out, but, like memory seats and entry/exit assist.. they figure the purist who wants the stick will also want a key and will be ok moving the seat themselves.

Not entirely true. My old 5MT BMW 325i did not require me to depress the clutch in order to start the car (that's not with the i-key, just a regular key start, but still). My other MT cars did though which is why I was the first to be amaze when I first experienced that in the bimmer. So it's feasible if a company would really want to. It's just lazyness from their part IMO.

I think they solved that on the 2006 C6, and the Auto is now a six speed with paddle shift.

i saw the paddle shift but haven't heard anything on the keyless start. good to know they actually listened to customer frustration for once and did something about it. now if only infiniti would do something about this blose stereo....
