Well, I was wondering which year I should get.. I've been waiting for the 06' because i believed that the intelli key was going to be on the 6mt, but it isn't and now I don't know if getting an 06 is worth it.

What are some pluses to getting the 06 instead of the 05?

and maybe swap the headlights to 06 ones? cuz i really like projectors.

go with the 05.. im sure you can get an amazing price right now because the dealers have to make way for the 06's. It doesnt pay to get an 06.. and if you really want the projectors just swap the headlights as JDM 350GT said. Good luck in w/e you choose!

 

Went through the same question and ended up with a loaded 05 6mt a couple of weeks ago. The $3900 I saved under MSRP will double the offset in a years depreciation. And when you measure depreciation a few years from now, sell or trade last quarter of year. That way a '05 in Nov 2009 will have four years against it; a '06 sold in Feb 2010 (three months later) the same four years!

 

Its not just the headlights, if you really want the bluetooth and Intelligent key the 06 might be of more appeal to you.

 

The 06 tail light is fugly.
The projector is nice.
Bluetooth is nice.
Intelligent key is ok.

I went with the 05.

 

same, went with a fully 05 loaded 6mt under invoice. no regrets but looking to retrofit those projectors!

 

Get the 06, it's not that much difference in the price, unless you can make a sick deal on the exact 05 you want.

 

i was going to get a 05 6mt coupe, but they werent trying to give me a good deal. the best deal i could get is with the vpp discount (200 over invoice), so i went and ordered a 06 330i. this was about 2-3 weeks ago

No BMW dealer I have ever been to has discounted much if anything off sticker.

 

200 over invoice is not a good deal to me considering 06 is coming out within a couple weeks and is out now.
i order a 2006 bmw 330i for 500 over invoice, no bull **** what so ever. and its a 2006 model, and body style wont be changing until another 4yrs. i think thats a good deal, but of course this is a g35 forum. i still like the g35 even though i got a different car.
