Bird Sh*tty

Is it just me or does bird sh*t act like paint thinner on these cars?!?!! If i have BS on the car for any extended period of time(as in more than a few hours) it destroys the paint! God forbid my car ever gets bombed really bad, as some cars do around me sometimes. My black coupe will be A nice shade of primer for crying out loud. Something tells me that between the scratches and the Bird ish this is going to be the first car that I ever have to get repainted. Hats off to Infiniti for picking some Q U A L I T Y Paint!

Re: Bird Sh*tty

This is not exclusive to Infiniti paint. Bird droppings contains acid and will eat through the clear coat if you don't get it off pronto. Best bet is to cover the car with a car cover.

I know that Birds spray acid but damn the paint should hold up a little. It's almost as if you dont catch it right after it falls your out of luck. I would expect better. I mean previous cars that I have had were never this bad and they did get crapped on.

Re: Bird Sh*tty

Like I said before in another topic it's sad that nissan(infiniti) cut a few corners on our cars: paint, seats with no memory, better tranny, better cd player and mags that are not painted.

Maybe it's the reason with you can get such a great car for the amount of money.

Anyways this is my second nissan(we had 4 in the family) and the paint was really cheap on all of them. That's the main reason why I got my CB coupe instead of a black one...still I'll have to get the front bumper painted in like 2 years.

Re: Bird Sh*tty

The G is my 9th car, so I can vouch from long experience that bird crap will threaten any paint job that's not protected. All the more reason to apply a quality wax or polymer on your finish as a buffer, and maintain it.

I have several coats of Zaino on mine. I also keep a bottle of Turtle Wax Bug & Tar remover on hand. When I pull into my garage at the end of the day, if I have any crap on the car, I just shoot some of that stuff on the stains, and wipe off with a cotton towel to remove it.

You never want to let that stuff just sit on your naked paint.

Zaino will protect your paint. I just dampen the birdie poop and wipe it away a few minutes later.

Re: Bird Sh*tty

i learned my lesson on my old car, a bird $hit on my car while i was at work, and all day in the 100 + degree florida sun it left a crackle look on the paint andi had about four coats of liquid glass on it. so now everytime i see bird crap on my G i grab a cup of water and wet it down and it just rinses away after a minute. i also have a few coats of klasse on it.

Re: Bird Sh*tty

actually ... I've had TONNES OF DUMP on my car ...

I have alot of that Zaino z6 spray ..and one coat of z5 ... I have not seen any problems with it eating the paint...either the birds in TO got better guts or the I lucked out in the crap I get ...hehhehehe

or the zaino is doing it job.

one thing I will say ... NOW after the zaino z5 app.... I notice alllllll the difference in the world when I go to a high pressure spray wash .. I blows everything off soooo easily now

I figure a few more apps of it ... and then I'll rarely have to mit the thing

laterrrrrr g's

I also have BS, and I constantly have bird-turd the color of yellow, and even purple. It left yellow stain right through the finish. Washed it several times, still would not come out. Took it to the detailers, they were able to take it out with no problems. They used a special compound cleaner. Wiped it off easy, without any harsh rubbing or scratching.

guys i wanted to say that make sure you wet the area first, to not wipe off dryed out poop, it will scratch your paint! if you dont have any water around you, just spit a couple of times on a napkin and soak the area really well. then wipe off.
