Wind noise.... under warranty?

'04 DP Coupe AT....

This week, I started to notice that when I hit 75mph that there is a slight whistling coming from the driver's side window. Its not a horribly loud, terrible sound... just not the smooth sounding wind noise that I'm used to or what I expect from a luxury car like this. It would be acceptable on a 10 yr old Honda or something but....

I took a closer look this morning and it appears that the weather stripping is a bit warped in the area where the whistling is coming from, so I'm assuming thats the cause of the noise. My car hasn't been broken in to or anything, and I haven't messed with the weather stripping at all.

Question #1) What would have caused this?
Question #2) Think my dealer will cover it under warranty?

Thanks for your input!

I have the same problem with my 04 G35 Coupe, but mine is Desert Platinum and 6MT.

The wind noise in my coupe sounds like it is coming from the top corner of window. Dealership told me they are not allowed to drive up to 75 mph so they drove it 'at freeway speeds' and couldn't replicate the sound.

hurry.. this stuff is 1yr/12mo, like rattles. However, most dealers will do this simple stuff outside of that period, I think ICA lets them do these things... Unlike Nissan, they would probably deny it outside of 12k

technically it's not covered b/c it doesn't start until 75mph. but most dealers might ignore that illegality voids the warranty. Either way, i would say that you hear the noise at 70 as that is legal on some roads.

As long as you dont mention that it starts at 75, and just show them the stripping you should be allright.

Had the same problem. Dealer had the car for 3 days trying to fix it. The noise comes from the top corner of my drivers window. They managed minimize the noise, but not fix it. I decided to be happy with the result, being I witnessed them change the entire weather stripping and had the car for three days.

Its definately under warranty, and they should fix it. 75mph rule? That has to be one of worst dealer excuses I have heard yet.

Probably an air leak. Have the rubber seal looked at and lubricated (with a silicone door seal lube). If that doesn't stop the whistle, then have the door adjusted slightly to firmly seat the rubber properly all 'round.
Yes it should be warranty.

Maybe it's designed as a reminder to slow down.

Yeah, there is a TSB on it:

That should at least take car of a few noises. Luckily for me, so far, so good *knocks on wood*.

Take a trip out here to NM where the speed limit is 75. We have an Infiniti dealer.
