I won't even consider the IS350 without a 6 speed manual and I keep hearing that the stability controls are too intrusive and the ride is too soft. Not really what I'm looking for at this time of my life. I'll wait til I'm 50. Lexus has sold thousands of ES330s, so the whole sofa on wheels thing is pretty popular I guess. The performance coupe will always be a niche market.

That's a difference of $4080, or realistically, $6590 (the difference between the cheapest G35 and the cheapest IS350)
A loaded IS350 with the Luxury package runs $43,589.
A loaded G35 (Premium, Sport Pkg, Nav, splash, TM) runs $38,050.
That's a $5539 difference.

checked out the IS350 today. not all that impressed. the 18 inch wheels look cheap, like white plastic. hate the design of them too. and while the interior has better quality material (leather was plush), the design of the dash components is bubbly and ugly. i much prefer the 05-06 G35 interior design, which is spare and modern.

maybe in 07, theyll introduce the g45?? if not theyll definitely give the current v6 a boost in power though, and get it a little over 300.

If the E90 sedan's performance numbers is any indication of what the Coupe will do, then it will not be faster than the current G35 and they'll further behind the power curve when the next G comes out. There are several mag tests that have confirmed this already. I used to own a E46 Coupe and it's nothing but a two-door version of the sedan, nothing extra in the performance department.
