That's right - someone shot my Coupe while I was driving down my street. It was about 11:30 last Friday night, and I was coming home from eating dinner, and about 100 yards before I got to my house, this LOUD clank comes from the right side of the car. My first thought was that someone threw a rock at it. I was ready to get out and absolutely murder someone, but by the time I stopped, put it in reverse, backed up, put the parking brake on, and got out, they'd already had time to run back into the house.

Anyway, it was dark and I couldn't see much, so I drove home and pulled the car in the garage, and about 6 inches below the passenger side mirror is a deep dent about the size of a nickel, and the paint was flaking away all around it. That's when I realized that it wasn't a rock; someone shot it with a pellet gun. I got a pellet (.177 caliber) and it fits perfectly in the size of the inner-most dent.

I called the cops, and they came out and did absolutely nothing (of course). I got a hold of my insurance on Monday, and they said that if I claimed it, it would make my insurance go up, so I have to pay for it out of pocket. I took it by the body shop at the Crest Infiniti (Dallas, TX) and the estimate was $325. So my baby's getting fixed right now, but it's supposed to take at least a week.

I'm trying to get a hold of the cop that came out that night to find out why the hell he didn't go down to the house and ask some questions. If he won't do anything about it (which he probably won't), I'm gonna go down there and talk to the kid's parents. It's gonna take everything I have not to drag him out of his house and kill him if he answers the door. Maybe I should go down there style.

Ohhh man, if I were you I would hunt that little ***** down, even if it meant camping out in front of his house in wait for him. Beating his sorry little *** into a pulp would probably get me far greater satisfaction than getting his parents to pay for it. But then again I'm a vindictive bastard when it comes to people messing with my G.

 

wait so do u or do u not know who shot at u. U said it was dark and did not see them so are u asuming that its a kid. Not that i really care but make sure u are 100% sure befor persuing the kid.

I think u should wait out side realy late and see if some one trys to shoot at an other car and when they do u should shoot them.

I had that happen on another car that I owned.. I was coming back from a 5 hour trip. Within 2 blocks of my house *TING!*
I was so mad.. I went to the house and after about 10 secs of speaking to their parents I realized what the real problem was, them! I quickly ascertained that the whole respect for property, reponsibility or the law wasnt going to phase them. After I got past them denying it completely, I knew they were not going to pay for the damages.

I was just at a loss and was about to just leave, but then it struck me. They needed to hear something they could understand. I told them if a really freaky way that there were some bad characters that use this street. This was your typical middle class neighborhood with a rather busy street in the middle (where this happened), and I asked them if they knew of a few very expensive cars that frequent the road, loud stereos, in and out of some apt buildings about a mile away at all times of the day - very obviously drug dealers. They knew who I meant. Without saying if they were my friends or not, I told them that they wouldnt want to know what would happen if they had 'shot' at one of those cars. I went on to tell them that their kids could get them into some trouble even the police couldnt help *them* with.

It was a beautiful sopranos-like moment. They understood that kind of threat. All of sudden they were apologizing and giving me assurances the pellet gun would be taken away.. Still didnt get the repair paid for but I got put the gangsta-fear on them.

Who is your insurance carrier? Reammybutthole Mutual? There is NO way they can raise your rates for making a comprensive claiim. They are lying to you unless you have made a claim with them in the past.

Hey guys, sorry I've been really busy this wkend and haven't had a chance to give an update on the situation with the car. I should be getting it back today from the Infiniti body shop. I'm anxious to see how it turned out (hopefully well). I'm having some warranty work done as well, so it's taking a little longer that just the body work.

After talking to the police, they basically said that there's nothing they will do about it since I don't have any proof that it was that kid who shot at the car, let alone that it actually did happen in front of that house. I can't believe that this is all the police will do for an Assault with a Deadly Weapon incident.

The thing that really got me was that the pellet made a deep dent in the metal, and it was only about 6 inches below the window line. I'm assuming that some dipsh*t kid most likely doesn't know how to handle a rifle very well, which means that it probably wasn't skill that put the pellet that close to the window. If it had've been just a little bit higher, it would've gone through the glass and maybe hit my girlfriend who was in the passenger seat. And with her height and the height of the seat, there's a good chance that it wouldve hit her in the neck or the head, which, from that range, could seriously injure or even kill a person (especially since he obviously pumped the gun many times before firing). I plan on going to talk to his parents, even though I'm sure it will do no good. What a world we live in...
