Problem, I need help!!!

My 04.5 G35 coupe has 11,000 miles and I have noticed that my tires have been making alot of noise and the drive feels weird. So I take my G in and they say my tires are wearing out unevenly and they want to charge me $1200 to replace all 4 tires. I never burn out on these tires and its weird that the tires are wearing out so soon. I know they have the feathering problem on the Z. Is there something I can do? Please help me

Thanks in advance

Get the new tires and make sure that you get an alignment and get the new tires weighted properly.

yup.
I had same issue, tires worn uneven..My insides were worn, the outsides were OK. The center stripes were down to the wear marks (OEM Michelin 225/45, 245/45). At 15000 miles.

I bought some Michelins from tirerack.com..even with shipping it was cheaper than anything in town.
I took them to a tire store, had 'em mounted, balanced, and aligned..done.

Tires are important..I respect tires....and brakes..

Get a good lawyer. I had the same issue on my previously owned 350z and through raising enough hell managed to get them to buy the car back. It's rather ridiculous that the G35 has the same issue yet Nissan won't recognize it like they do on the Z. I actually had my tires replaced twice and cross rotated once all under warranty when I owned the Z. Good luck.

Is it just the rear tires? or all four? I would speak to the dealership about it. Have them check the alignment.

My brother's coupe has exactly the same issue, and now needs new tires once again after ruining the OEM's and then the second set. The alignment was checked twice and found to be fine, and neither set of tires was abused in any way.
The first set of tires lasted about 20k miles, the second about 10k miles so it's getting worse, and it's not the alignment or tires pressures that the dealer and Nissan will lead you to believe.
The dealer would do nothing for my bro because Nissan will not step up with warranty like they did with the 350Z, and no amount of complaining has done any good. They say there have been few complaints.

He's considering selling the Coupe out of disgust and not buying another Nissan product of any kind. He's really pissed, as you can imagine.

It's obvious that there's an issue in the front end of the Coupe, but they'll do nothing to help.

Oh, and we live in Southern Ontario, Canada. I don't know if anybody has gotten any help in the U.S.-- I seriously doubt it.

Colin.

You probably need $1200 to replace your rubber every year if you don't change your driving habbit. I still have my original rubber on 18000 mile and they look fine. Drive safely at race track not on the street.

Like i stated above, I have never burned out on these tire nor have they been abused. The tires are wearing out in the inside and according to the dealer all 4 tires need to be changed.

Thanks guys for your help, if anyone has had similar issues please post it.

So you say that because your tires are ok after 18k miles, G35coupe1985 and my brother must be racing around and driving unsafely. hmmmm

I can't speak for G35coupe1985's driving habits, but I'm assuming that his are not much different to my brother's......
If that is the case, and I can certainly attest to my brother's circumstances, the issue has little or nothing to do with driving habits, and everything to do with a fault in the front suspension of his Coupe!

Congrats on still having the original rubber on your ride......that's great CC_G, but I'd suggest that it's more to do with good luck that you don't have the same issue/problem than it is with good or bad driving.

Anyone else have the issue? I know there aren't many, but there sure are some. What to do about it......that's the question.

Colin.

---Oh, and btw Chewchew_G, despite our difference of opinion on this matter, I welcome you to G35Driver, and congratulate you on your trouble free G.
C.

Don't get Michellin Pilot Sports. They suck.
I just got a set of Dunlop DZ101. They are way cheaper and ride better. I highly recommend it.

Wheel alignment warranty is 12 months/12k miles. If you are under that, get the alignment checked by the dealer for free. Are your tires feathering?

I've got major problems on the front end of my '05 coupe. Sport suspension. 15K miles, mostly highway, i can't figure what the deal is...similarly, i don't think i'm a rough driver at all. The rears I think are fine......

Have been thinking of taking the thing to the dealer for a look, but soooooo despise the thought of going to a dealer
