stillen engine dampen
Since our cabin seems very vibrating (that might
make a lot of rattles?), i am not sure
stillen engine dampen would help ? Anybody has installed
can you tell your cabin less vibrating?
thanks,
Mike

passenger cars use flexible motor mounts that allow the engine to move during acceleration which lessens the transfer of vibrations from the engine to the car, thus smoothing the ride.....but this comes at a cost...it takes energy (small amount) to move the engine, energy that could be transferred to the wheels
race cars use solid motor mounts to eliminate this small loss of power, but the ride is rough compared to a passenger car (there are other reasons not considered here, like suspension differences)
the engine damper is designed to reduce the movement of the engine thus transferring this small loss of power to the wheels.....it can also eliminate the vibration caused by the installation of aftermarket CATS hitting the underside of the car....
some that have installed the damper have reported slightly increased vibrations felt in the car.....some have not.....i have one installed and had no increase in vibrations and a sense that the shifts were stronger........but there is a rattle now from the damper (can only be heard at idle) and i will remove this product this weekend.......i hope to verify the benefit of this product by noticing a relative "sluggishness" return to the shifts

i have the stillen engine damper, it doesnt not make ur 'car' vibrate more, however it transfers some vibration into the steering wheel which is normal. This might be also made worse by the fact that its mounted literally right below/next to the power steering fluid reservoir. But I did notice after install some vibration in the steering wheel, but have now gotten used to it. I already expected this as copbait a former member on gdriver had mentioned this after he had installed his. It also did eliminate his vibration from his Helix hi flow cats as shooter mentioned above.
I have it installed on my 05 Coupe - no issues at all...shifts did firm up a little though and I also noticed that CATS don't rub at shifts either. At idle, in gear, you can feel the faintest little rumble from the engine...makes it feel a little more like a race car.
