Question question on rear infiniti emblem

my rear infiniti symbol embloe got stolen over the weekend and I was just wondering when I replace with the new one do I take all the old adhesive off or do i basically put the new one over the old adhesive. If i do take the adhesive off how would i know that i'm keeping the symbol straight when i put it on

use some painters tape to keep a tag on where the emblem goes and take off all the original adhesive..

It's best to get as clean as a surface as you can to allow the adhesive to apply correctly...So YES to cleaning off all the old adhesive and cleaning up that area in general.

The Best way to get the lettering back on correctly is to make a "Template".

In other words to cut out paper or cardboard that is basically a cut out to the "outline" of your trunk area. You can judge where the old adhesive was and cut that area out to place the new badges on.

OR you could take it to your local dealer and see if they would put it back on for you. I'm sure they use a Template of some sort that is made to get it on there perfectly straight.

**ON A SIDE NOTE**
This would be the perfect opprotunity for you to purchase SKYLINE badges and replace with those. I did the work to take my "Infiniti" off the back and replaced with "Skyline". I took the G35 off and replaced with "350 GT". If you've never heard of where this comes from, basically the long long long story short is, our car is really a Nissan, and it's called the "Skyline 350 GT" over where it's built (JAPAN). Just a suggestion...I LOVE mine and get compliments for the way it looks great all the time...

Thanks and hope this helps,
