Smart move bro... I have a G and am M3. Luckily I bought the M3 a while back and I am in the process of selling it. I am leasing my G so unfortunately I have to keep it for a while.. There is alot more in life than a nice car. I learned the hard way that a car is pretty much the only investment you will lose money on.. Now Im closing on a house and putting the money from my m3 into ROTH IRA's. Gotta grow up sometime...

You remind me of how I got my G...I bought it used at 1700 miles. The first owner had a couple months and couldn't afford it so he turned it in to the dealer he bought from. And I snatcheda day after! Sorry to hear that you miss your G.

At least you're still turning heads in the purple people eater.

Don't worry bro, many guys are in your same boat, they're just not posting about it.

I just sold my G and bought an '01 Maxima 5-speed. I know it's no G, but it's not bad, and the payments are $250 instead of $660 on an equal length loan...I needed the money, and I'm a dentist. I could have afforded it, but it was taking too much of our discretionary/savings. Pretty sad when you make $175K and are living month to month. Not going down that road anymore. Married, 2 kids, they deserve the best for now...maybe when I save a lot I'll have fun in the future.

lol @ the purple people eater!

Glad you made the right choice, but I feel for you. I picked up a new Cavalier in '03 as a commuter car and drove it until I got my G. The Cav was a fun little beater (specified a 5-spd just for that reason) and did just fine, but I'd really hate moving to one after the G. I felt like I was roughing it for those couple of years as it was.

You must be a bad gambler, your wife probably don't work and you must also have a fat girlfriend to feed.

Seriously, I hope you are spending your money wisely. Where does all your money go?

Hey man its all good, I myself was in sort of a predicament as you were before. I had an M3 as my previous car, and bought a 88 chevy nova, plus we were slammed with a $4000 dollar debt that needed to be paid so i sold my M3, bought myself a Chevy Nova. and then finally i was able to free up some money and get a g35 for my wife 3 months after paying off the debt. I still drive my Nova to work 6 days a week and the g35 on the weekends.

The good thing about buying a used econobox vehicle is you learn to appreciate what you had/have or will have. Ever since i bought my beater car believe it or not i love my car to death. It may not be a fancy car like the G35 or the likes of any $3000+ vehicle but it gets the job done.

A maxima isnt so bad, even my mother in law has a 99 max and its spacious for alot of things especially with groceries or lugging the whole family around.

Thumbs up

Yeah bro you did the right thing!! Wish you luck in the future...Spendig too much on a car that will end up in a junk yard is not worth it if you cant afford now. Just save lots of money in the bank and spend it wisely!

Good decision, takes a responsible person to make a decision like that. Good luck, hope you get what you want eventually, hope to see you back.

^ hahahahahahaha man that sucks but def a good choice.. sometimes i kinda wish i would just save money but honestly im having a blast right now and im in the prime of my life at 23 ... my theroy is live it up now when you are in your prime instead of saving for later when you are an old geezer.. i have much more potential to have fun now then i do when im 40 or 50... think about it!

ps.. ill probably pay for this thinking later!
