looking to purchase coupe-2005 vs 2006

I am new to the forum and have been lurking for a few weeks - am pretty much set on a g35 6mt coupe (after test driving honda s2000, bmw 325 6spd, 3301 auto, rx-8, lexus i250) - want the diamond graphite/graphite, premium and aero packages -
My dealer states he cannot locate a 2006 model and will not be able to get one until end of January.....i am looking at the end of this month as my wife will decide to stay home with our twin babies, lose her company car and i will hand over the Suburban to her
My dealer is pushing me in the direction of lease, which i agree with as i can take it off my pretax income at work and i do get bored with cars easily - also better payment and high residual....
however, he seems to be pushing a 2005 leftover as they have a decent amount on the lot....and will be able to offer a "great deal" on the '05..
He states that he can add bluetooth to the '05....so i won't get the new spoiler, new seatbelt config, bixenon lights.....
My question is.....any advice, recommendations on the '05 vs '06 - what kind of deal can i broker lease-wise if i accept to take one off their hands....

well if you add bluetooth to the 2005 i doubt it will run like the factory system of the 2006. if you need the bluetooth then get the 2006 but if you want to save a few bucks the 2005 is great.

I'd go 05... 1. you save money, 2. I heard aftermarket bluetooth has alot more options that the OEM one, and 3. with the money you save, you can retrofit BOTH lowbeam & fog with projectors! =OOO

avoid that dealer.. he's trying to rape you..
I am guessing that you are in Charleston, SC.. I am in Clemson, SC and got mine from Atlanta.. Paid 500 above invoice for a 06'.. How much is he asking for the lease? Unless it is 300 bucks I'll avoid the lease..
These cars don't lose value at all and I don't think that you can get better than $3000-4000 off on a 05', but as I said you can get a $3000 off on a 06' anyways..
I contacted about 20 dealers within 650miles distance.. and made them feel like I'm willing to fly somewhere and get the car if the price is right. Once the dealer knows that you will take your business somewhere else, he'll give you much better pricing..
I wasn't offered the financing rate I got from another dealership when I was getting the car.. So check that also. When I told them that I'll then go somewhere else and actually stood up the chair, they 'magically' found a coupon to lower the financing rate to what I wanted.
Abuse the dealer as much as you can..
Plus they will try to sell you gap insurance and wheel protection package. Don't pay more than 200 for either, and tell them that you know what other dealerships charge from this forum, or even better ask them before you go...

$36900 out of the door for a 06' black/black 6mt with navi+prem+mats

Wait until end of this month to get one. Right at the end of year, you can get a GREAT deal, as dealers want to add some more to their yearly sales total.

chelique - if you really got that deal, then you are one hell of a negotiator or just really lucky. I work at an Infiniti dealership and we dont even give that kind of deal out to employees. Not on 2005's and certainly not on 2006's which have only been out for a few weeks now. $36,900 with tax title fees, etc included? Because if that is, thats no where close to invoice + $500......thats more like a $2000-2500 negative.
