That's EXACTLY what it is. Japanese car magazines do this sort of thing all the time. The pictures then wind up on the internet and then people get all excited (ie. S16 Silvia, R35 GT-R, etc).

I like the more aggresive front and resemblance to the family M flagship.

I dont think they'll do anything up front to mirror the M other than maybe altering the grille treatment to bolder bars. As far as the headlamps go, I guarantee you that from a design standpoint they will probably remain vertically stacked as opposed to the horizontally arrayed M headlamps. They are a signature on the face of the G. Headlamps are like eyes...they are the windows to the soul of the car. If they headlamps change it will be for a VERY well thought out reason. Nissan doesn't screw with something when its working well for them. If it ain't broke, they won't fix it either.

A good case in point for part of Nissan's design philosophy can be found in Road&Track's Jan '06 issue with the feature article on the new GT-R with an interview with Hiroshi Hasegawa.

BTW have you seen the new print-ads for the M's? Awesome concepts. Thats the print designer in me wanting to put his two cents in.
