When did the G Coupe get leather on the door armrests?

I noticed they have it on the 06 in Japan (and US too I assume?)

Damn. Can I pop the vinyl off my 05 armrests and drop the leather insert on? Someone explore this further! I hate the vinyl. Even my brothers 323ci has leather armrests on the doors.

The door panels on my '05 Coupe are one of the weakest points on the car...they're plasticy, and of poor quality, there are already several nicks/dings from the seatbelt---it flys back when I take it off and nicks the el cheap plastic door panel.

OTOH, my '97 Lexus LS400 has beautiful leather/pleather covered door panels and real leather armrests.

Back to this after a couple weeks...

I'm not so much disappointed with the materials of the door panels so much as my bony elbows not liking the plasticky armrests. Can someone with an '06 post a few photos of the new leather armrests from different angles? I'd really like to retrofit some leather rests if at all possible.

I'm certain that I'm not the only one!

anyone notice that there's a dip in the arm rest where you rest your elbow? my car isn't even 2 months old and there's already a dip in the middle of the armrest where i put my elbow while i drive. kinda sucks

also, yeah the door panel gets nicks VERY easily from the seat belt retracting. i have to be extra careful to make sure it doesn't go flying back into its retracted position.
