Pop/Clunk when in Reverse

i did a search on this and couldn't find what i was looking for. i go to my car this morning and as soon as i start to reverse out i hear this "pop" or "clunk" coming from the rear. it is pretty damn cold where i live, but could that be the problem? and is this the same problem is the infamous rear-end click? thanks in advance

the rear-end click is far from a pop/clunk....its just a slight click comming from the axle in forward and reverse, slow speeds. do u have auto or manual ?

The rear axle thing is a different issue from the "pop-clunk" sound...

It's more of a faint "click click click" from the rear axle.

The "Pop... Clunk..." sound is most likely your brake freezing in the cold sticking to the rotor. You'll probably notice it only does this once... when you initially engage in reverse or forward... but never happens after driving (hot rotor).

So... Pop Clunk... don't know what you can do...
And... Click click... rear axle issue.

Could be driveline slack being taken up or it the brake pads that might be stuck/frozen onto the disks. Either way, no worries.

If the G was sitting idle for a week then it's easy for rust, moisture to cause the pad to stick/freeze to the rotor.
Another way is for the emergency to be left on for a long time. In this case it's best not to leave it on.
G/L with finals....
