You can't really take one apart. You can break it, then glue it back together again. I have a feeling that is why clearcorners.com darkens them up, to make the seam along the edge less noticeable after they were split open.

If someone has cleanly taken them apart, I'd love to know. I made a complete hack job out of the spare one I had.

Probably what you have to do.

However, LEDs don't have a filament like light bulbs. They are very resistent to vibration, and usually last almost "forever". Chances are, they won't ever burn out in the vehicle's lifetime.

Hey, I remember that car I saw on .org forums a few years back. And thought those LEDs were badass on the Max.

I went to an electronics school for two years, and we use to make all kinds of funky things with LEDs. As far as them burning out, the usual way they will go out is if they have too much current running through them or too much voltage across them.

What happens when the bulbs burn out, how would we replace them? I wouldn't mind disconnecting them so i could just have the circular lights only.

Yeah.... I want to get into my 06 housing and get rid of that disgusting filament that covers the leds now and makes them ugly and less clean.

the likelihood of the LEDs going out for the life of the car is very slim.. VERY slim.
