Re: Garge door opener
it uses the standard HomeLink Universal Transceiver thats in just about every car that has a built-in garage opener, it'll support older garages as well as rolling code garages, although its much trickier to do rolling code ones. Just make sure your garage door opener has a button on it that lets you setup a receiver.....my brother did it just fine on his benz..... my mom has a lex and has a regular code opener working fine on hers, both are HomeLink

Re: Garge door opener
Yeah our Sears Craftsman door opener has rolling codes, so what I had to do for our Lexus was climb up on a ladder and press some button on the unit to put it in "learn" mode or something then climb down get in the car and set up the button on the visor. Worked like a champ after that. Your manual for your garage door opener will tell you how to do this. Our previous garage door opener didn't have rolling codes, so all I had to do was hold the opener near the button on the visor while it learned the code, much like a learning remote for a TV or something.

Re: Garage door opener
I think it depends on your opener and how many remotes it will support. I think our craftsman supports 3 remotes, thus I assume 3 cars as well, but I've never tried it with more than one, I guess I'll let you know after I add the G to the door opener as well. Sorry I don't know the details of what is happening with the electronics, only how to get it to work...
