The sound of your G

Does anyone else love the sound of the car? I find myself driving in the freezing cold weather with the window wide open just to hear that sweet sweet rumble...or is it a growl?

Either way, I was wondering, what is your favorite part of your G?

Mine is the sound for sure...that and that dumb-*** grin I always seem to have.

Did you ever notice how much better our cars sound at idle when you're warming it up in a really cold day/night?

Start it up one day when it's like 25 degrees out, then get out and go stand behind it and listen. Cold exhausts always sound soo awesome.

Thumbs up

Man... I just can't get enough of it. especially in a parking garage where the sound echoes off a pillar or barrier.

That's too funny.... I live in a building and when I drive up i actually leave it in first or second and drive at a high RPM just to hear it...

i love the oem exhaust hum! i was wondering if there was a way to amplify this particular sound with performance gains to match. i've come up with fujitsubo during some searches. would anyone else agree? i'm also interested in the borla exhaust because of it's bang for the buck, but i'm afraid the sound quality will change. i might end up with a cheap Ypipe combined with the fuji. input anyone?

Don't get the borla if you love the stock sound. My car sounds like there is a V8 in there, and I don't really care for the drone.

No exhaust system will ever retain the most beautiful exhaust sound out of ANY v6 out there, the VQ's . If you want to make your exhaust sound louder AND deeper, get headers and hi-flow cats.

BTW, every time i hear that sound, i look around, and its always either an FX, a 350z, or a coupe. God i love that sound....

OEM growl + louder = Y-pipe and high flow cats. Mess with the mid-pipe or muffler segment and the stock sound is gone. Fujitsubo sounds good, but it's still different from stock. One other to consider is the Nismo Weldina exhaust for our cars. That sounds very close to stock, but more aggressive when pushed.

The exhaust note makes the car..i cannot get enough of it i keep my window open even if its <20 degrees out. The second best part of the car is the back end..it is probably top 5 of the nicest rear ends on any car on the road.

The best part about the sound is that it's sporty without being obtrusive. The only manufacturer that does a better job with the exhast sound IMO is Porsche, but of course you can almost buy 3 Gs for the price of one 997S.
