VDC Actuator Problem...

Hi everyone,

This is a new problem that Im facing and wanted to report in order to let you guys take the proper percuations if any and to get some feedback if anyone has faced it before.

Well, here goes...I was driving my 2003 Coupe normally until the (ABS, VDC, and Slip) warnings lighted up. To my surprise, I also noticed that the rear brake lights were not working as well.

Took it to the dealership, and it took them ages and many assumptions (Fuse problem, battery, etc..) untill they decided that the problem was due to a problem in my VDC actuator (whatever that means). So basically their next move is to replace it. They still didnt give me a price, and they should get back to me within a few days.

I hope someone of this forum has some feedback because Im kinda worried and getting restless.

The funny part is that the genious working on my car was trying to blame it on some faulty wiring in the installation on my Kenwood head unit. I told the guy that the headunit has been installed more than a year ago, and the problem I'm facing with the VDC only came up a few weeks ago !!!!

Well amigo, you are in luck. I had the same problem in my '03 coupe and it was a sensor that had to do with the brakes. The brakes did work but I had no ABS nor my VDC worked, so be careful when it rains. It was replaced under warranty. BTW, how many miles do you have on your vehicle? Unless you have passed the warranty period, it should be covered by it. Good luck.

Price? Aren't you still under the 4 year bumper to bumper warranty?
