The Mercedes 4-door coupe is an awesome concept. I wonder if Infiniti will ever go this route? No, no, no, I'm not suggesting the replace the current coupe!

I have selfish reasons for wanting this. #1, I'm in medical sales and need to have 4-door access for my passengers. Company policy. #2, I'm also a soon to be parent and would appreciate the flexibility with car seats.

 

doesn't "coupe" mean a 2-door car for 2 persons and sometimes with tight rear seating? so to say a 4-door coupe would be like an oxymoron... although, yes, it does sound rather interesting...

 

Are you talking about a door like the RX-8? The tiny "suicide" doors? If yes... it'd probably be a good idea and lower insurance fees =PPP

They already did. It's called the Sedan. And yes a Coupe is a 2-door vehicle. If MB says they have a 4-door coupe they really are the idiots I thought they were.

Technically, the Mercedes CLS is a sedan by definintion.

They call it a 4-door coupe because of the body styling. The body and roofline are those of a "traditional" coupe, not a sedan.

To pull off such a design, you need a big car, like the CLS. Otherwise, the doors will be too small and there will be headroom issues in the rear.

 

2 doors = coupe / 4 doors = sedan...

 

I am still waiting for the two-door sedan. What the hell will we call it? I don't know, a crazy thought, only two doors on a car with a back seat that is really hard to get to...maybe it's just crazy talk...
