Re: 15,000 Mile Service
Guys, guys, that's too funny. Keep it clean, sort of. 300 for a 15K service, wow??? I'm coming up on it, too. Will be there in less than a month or so I betcha. By the way, what'd they do for all that loose green stuff? Oil, filter, cabin filter??, rotate tires, wash, full tank of gas???, etc.
Thanks and drive on. What kind of probs have you had---any? Me, I've had the clicking noise from right rear and it got fixed under warranty. That's about it for me. Give me some words.

Re: 15,000 Mile Service
Man, that's a lot of dough for a 15k service. Just confirms my intentions to do all the maintenance work myself. The dealer will only see my car if there's a warranty issue to take care of.
That's how these dealers make their profits - on the maintenance service. Screw 'em, I'm doing it myself and keeping their profits in my pocket.

Re: 15,000 Mile Service
I just got mine done. All they did was change the oil, change the cabin filter and change the air filter. Everything else was not done, not necessary, or n/c.
FYI. It cost $175. No other work was required according to the manual.

It cost $271 on the G35C. This is pretty inexpensive.

Inexpensive relative to what though? I'm looking at it from the standpoint of me doing the maintenance myself. Parts and supplies, we're looking at $20 for good oil and filter, and maybe $40 for both air filters (at most). I can change the oil and both filters in under an hour. So that's $210 in labor you're paying for less than hour's worth of work. Sounds expensive to me. I don't know about you, but I don't make anywhere near $210 an hour with my job.

Re: 15,000 Mile Service
Chrystler wanted $561 when they wanted to do a 30,000 mile service on my sebring (car I had before I got a G). I went up to the service manage and said "It's not worth it spending that much money on this POS. It's a lease, let it die because in the end I'm giving it back to you in a month and buying a real car instead of this stupid Tonka toy."

Re: 15,000 Mile Service
I would like to share some service info that happened to me. I'm wondering if anyone has had this happen? My wife drives our coupe part time. At 5100 miles, she noticed the steering was starting to drift. Not all of the time, but barely enough to notice. I took our coupe to the dealer. After inspection, they concluded a faulty right compression rod assembly. That was replaced and covered, of course, by warranty. My service tech told me that this is a widespread, common issue. I don't believe everything I hear, but that's what he said.
I would also like to advise a brake switch recall. Mine hasn't been done yet because the dealer didn't have the correct part for it at that time.
G35 Brake Switch ITB03-XX-R3011 is what you need.
I also understand that Infiniti will be retrofitting, cars already sold, for satellite radio. Does anyone have any new news on that?

Re: 15,000 Mile Service
Yeah...I said scew the 15,000 Service...they said it included tire rotation (doesn't apply to coupe), wheel alignment, engine flush, oil change and battery connection cleaning. I said no, and just got my oil chance and my alignment done (which I needed). It was $107. Turns out I actually got the engine flush free anyway cause they forgot to put synthetic in, which they have been doing since I bought it, I noticed it on the sheet luckily before I got out of there...so they took it back, flushed out the penzoil and added the Mobile 1. So I guess I got out of there with out too much damage. I tell you though...I don't know what they did, or if they hooked the ECU up to something...but I'm noticing a VERY CONSIDERABLE difference in the power of it after the (yes, I know) oil change and alignment...not sure what they did...but I can definitely notice it...
