I had 10k on the last VQ that I owned that ran Royal Purple and not a problem at all.

I've used M1 since about 18k and I have had no issues. My dealer stocks mobile1 and is more than happy to put it in the G35 if you pay them $80 for the oil change.

My Dealer charges $10 for an oil change if you provide the oil and filter and wait while they change the oil. Since my Dealer is close to me, it's a no-brainer to let the Dealer do the work.

Tell your service manager he is an idiot! Then ask him if he knows how many spark plugs are in the "G". What good is a synthetic blend? LOL.. that never made sense to me anyway.

Ohh by the way, my Cobra made 10 more RWHP using 15 50 M1 synthetic over 20-50 convential Penzoil. SAE corrected.

You cant compare the sound of your Maxima to G35 motor!

i surely agree that the max can't even compare overall, but i meant it in a good way...i'd just wish the maxima was aggressive as the g in terms of engine and exhaust...

Of course not. 5W may be overkill for your area, depending upon how cold it gets. But even if it doesn't get that cold, it won't hurt your engine. 5W will be incrementally thinner than 10W if the temperature gets low enough. The only thing that could hurt your engine in really cold weather is if the viscosity was too high. In other words 30W oil would not provide adeaquate lubrication in below freezing temperatures. Oil at that viscosity and at those temperatures would have the consistency of molasses.
