Squeaking Noise?

Whenever I go over the bumps I get a sqeaking sound but it is on and off. The strange thing is that whenever it rains outside the sound/noise completely disappears. If anyone might know what this is please let me know cuz its starting to bother me. Thank You

this subject has some pretty good threads on it... you may want to search.

there is a tsb.

mine squeaked, because my sways weren't lubed.

without knowing anything about your car (model, year, mods, etc...), it's difficult to help.

2004 G35c A/T. Noise sounds like its coming from around the wheel area or around the hood.

there was a great thread not too long ago (about one month) in the sedan forum about this. i've also got an '04 auto (sedan) w/sport package. the parts are similar. you may want to look in that forum.

I had a squeek/creak noise when I'd go up driveways or over speed bumps. It sounded like it was coming from the rear "area" (couldn't really pinpoint the noise).

I brought it to the dealer, not expecting them to find or fix it. When I picked up the car, they told me they re-lubricated the rubber molding in the sunroof. I thought, "What the heck?"

But wow, the creaking noise was gone.

I think there's a TSB on this issue. That was my fix, for all it's worth.

More than likely it is the sun-roof issue, here is the bulletin:

With the noise going away whenever it rains (rubber molding getting "wet"), I'm guessing IT IS the sunroof issue.

Just remember, it doesn't "sound" like it's coming from the sunroof but man, that's what my fix was.

You can probably pickup the 3M lubrication yourself if you don't want to take it to the dealer and try. Or heck, just bring it in with a printout of the TSB.

It was annoying when I kept on hearing it too. Good luck.

I picked up the 3m lubricate at our local NAPA auto-parts, and performed the application as outlined in the TB. Everything worked great, no more squeeky!

I think i found the problem, it was kind of strange but the noise came from the hood around the area where you go to pull your hood up. Theres a spring there that got all rusted so all i had to do is use wd-40 and noise is gone.

My seat squeaks, and rear view mirror rattles; I wonder if Infiniti will do warranty work based on "squeak and rattle" complaints...

mine do (mission viejo, and infiniti of raliegh)... they need some serious convincing though. but i've gotten new center console (entire thing), new door panels, new seats, rear view mirror tightened, seat brackets, windows fixed, sunroof fixed... that's the one thing that's bad with my car... rattles. but they fix them all.

i've got to say this - after 2+ years of ownership, if all i've got are rattle problems... i've got a good car.
