Oh yeah, that's a great idea. What are you goin' to tell the man the next time you're in court for the same thing? He's going to have your record in front of him, ya' know. He's going to think you're so stupid that you went and put the illegal tint back on your car after you got out of it the first time. Bet he'll cut you a lot of slack, huh!!

What I did once with my old car is I had pictures that I took in the shop right before I got the tint, so I showed that to the judge and he lowered the ticket to $5 but you still have to pay $20 or $25 surcharge for each window.
It seems like your case is personal. The cop obviously has you and your friends on watch.
In your case I would either pay for the tickets and try to prevent getting cought again, at night always put a light on when you see a cop, in the day time always roll down your window and open sunroof, so they can see thru inside. Or remove the tint from door windows and install a lighter tint like 35%. PBA card could help, so does being nice and assuring the officer that you're a safe driver and this causes no danger to anyone on the road. I don't know, good luck man.

In NY state you can't have tinted windows on the front driver and passenger side windows. Obviously, a lot of people break this rule (Myself included).

I think if you use lighter tint you won't get hassled as much. For instance check out my setup 40% Huper Optik tint on the side windows and 30% on the rear window. I have never been pulled over for it and I frequent NYC a lot.

Please don't listen to these clowns who are telling you to swap plates or whatever. Just pay the ticket and move on.

Its a small fine in New York City. I think its 50 or 60 dollars for the fine unless defined. Just pay it and get on with life. Not worth going through the troubles.

I hope you weren't calling me a clown!!! Swapping plates is a little extreme and could back fire, but like I said, he can pay the tickets and live with it, or taking off the tints and getting the tickets reduced make sense. I have 20% all around, and seeing cops on the road worries me, so I open the windows, sunroof or put the light on inside.

And btw, what kind of side markers are those?

Yes it's around $50, per ticket, which is usually per window. Not that small when you add it up, especially to the owner of this thread who stated he's young.

I remember over paying my fine and received a refund from DOT. So that's not true.

Usually the ticket is 50 bucks, but don't for get the state fees & court fees that adds another 55 bucks, at least here in VA. I got stop in the HOV lane 3 times one morning due to my windows (20% tints).

The question would be what was written on the ticket. And did he checked both front windows?

How did you end up with a total of 190?

I guess you only got tickets for the 2 front windows, which would make it a total $180. And as far as my experience goes, I always had to pay the surcharge, but the judge was able to lower the fine of the ticket which used to be $50 down to $5 since I provided pictures that I have taken the tint off.
Either way good luck.
