Wow!! John, you made it in this weather? I finally was relieved that we had a huge snowstorm like this to justify my purchase of a secondary vehicle (SUV). The G is tucked away in the garage ;-) Can't wait to get it out in the spring, which is not far away, looks like we're hitting the 40's mid to end of this week!

if there is a 1/2 inch of snow on the ground riding with stock tires... it will drift and spin for ever so i decided not to drive it today and drive my POS 2001 Jetta 1.8T car sucks but boy does it handle the snow

No problem yesterday. Went out for coffee\bagels in a foot of snow Sunday morning.
I also have Dunlop Wintersport M3's which I think made a HUGE difference. My car has eaten up everything this blizzard through at it on Long Island

Left the house at 3AM in the beginning of the snow storm, highway visibility was awful, No slippage with my G35 however drove fine in the snow with no problems, I got Blizzaks WS-50
When I left work... then I had a small issue.. I got stuck! I did say this was a small issue because I got out of being stuck by just turning VDC off and rocking the car back and forth.
Overall my G35 does better performance in snow with SNOW TIRES than my mother-in-laws Rav4 with all seasons!!

I have Blizzaks in the back and some hankook snow tires in the front, and the RWD G35 does really good in the snow and icy conditions. My cousin with the Evo was very impressed with the G, but he knows it's mostly thanks to the winter tires and driver skills. We went to a nice big parking lot and danced on plowed snow and some ice for more than an hour. I took a lot of pics and vids of my cousins Evo but when it came time to snap few pics of the G the camera died. Maybe I'll take some tonite.
So to put it short: G35 + snow tires = a fun, reliable winter car

I went out for a 30 minute drive the night of the snowstorm and the next evening when it was still all white and icy and yet no asphalt to be seen anywhere. I have 225/55HR-17 Dunlop Winter Sport M3 on all 4s set at 35 psi.
The tires were pretty good. I was able to leave from traffic lights with no problem and the VDC helped keep things in control. The slip light was going off A LOT. mostly in turns where I put the gas on too soon, but also just going straight since the roads were barely plowed yet, and any uneven chunks of snow I went over upset the rear wheels rotation. Thus the Slip light would start flashing.
On Interstate 287, I passed everyone and was only passed by 2 monster SUVs. I believe this was more the fact that people in Jersey become wussies when it starts to snow and the avg speed was 40 mph.
I was able to get upto 50 mph on these tires in 6 inch conditions (this was the first night when it was still snowing). I say only 50 mph, because any speed ABOVE that, and I would start to lose the rear. This is going in a straight line down the interstate. What would happen is any speed above that and the rear would start to sway to the right or the left....take your pick...it really just depended on which tire was losing traction first. This was also using a very steady foot accelerating, so massive acceleration at this juncture was not the issue.
Overall, they performed pretty well for beginning blizzard conditions with no good plowing yet to have been done....I was hoping the tire could handle 65 mph in a straigt line of snow, but 50 seemed to be the limit. I give them an 8.5
