I've heard horror stories from all types of dealerships of all types of car brands but my Mitsu dealer was the best, they covered me for warranty for the following things such as dirty shifter cables, 5th gear grinding, and front lip replacement... mods I had catback, high-flow, downpipe, intake, ported manifold, cams, cam gears, SS intercooler piping... when I use to go for maintanence they left stock air filters in my car since I had a intake they couldnt change my filter.

My Infiniti dealer is not too bad either, try going to another dealer if you have warranty problems. I installed my z-tube k&n combo not too long ago was dissapointed on the sound enhancement but I figured it wouldnt be that dramastic anyway... my gas mileage has been significantly better tho.

I've actually had my car on a dyno and my car was running very rich (less than 10:1) with my mods which include those listed below plus the z tube. That could account for your decrease in gas milage. Try resetting your ecu because the extra air from the pop charger and z tube seem to make the ecu increase fuel input for some reason. After i reset my ecu it seemed to help some. I'm going to dyno again in a few days after my MREV install to see if there's a difference from resetting.

i konw we've had some instances they even did a compression check to make the customer realize poor gas mileage might be from his/her driving habits

Any update on our MPH?

Seems like Ztube and K&N make the car run rich!

If you have navi, you can replace the filter and keep tracking the mileage. Than the dealer can plainly see, there's no difference. The resonated mid pipe is just there for noise reduction. I can't believe a dealer would even try to make a stink about that. I guess dealers think all of us are idiots
+1. I put the same on mine and it had zero effect on gas mileage.

I've heard from a lot of friends on other stuff, exhaust/intake combos which increase hp , decrease gas milage. Its happened on some of my other cars, but maybe its because it effects the powerband and whre you shift... or that you drive it faster now that there is more power?

I just got my G, so we'll see what happens when i start modding.

I dont know how you guys get anything above 16MPG. The best Ive gotten driving like a granny shifting at 3000RPM or below every single time is about 15.5MPG, highway or not.

I can't imagine how anybody gets less than 19MPG. I got 19MPG my first week in owning the car b/c I spent a good portion of it driving around downtown DC in heavy traffic. Since then I rarely get below 22/23, even with considerable traffic.

Btw, driving like a granny = longer life / better reliability for your car. Doesn't mean that you can't get on it sometimes, and believe me I do, but I would like to not have to change the clutch, brakes, etc. before their time.

Try this...............

Try cleaning your K&N filter then add a bottle of
Red Line f/i cleaner and see if that doesn't help.
I clean my K&N about every 5k and add Red Line
cleaner once every couple months...works for me!

When I first got my car I was getting 8-9 MPG at best. Its improved since and Ive taken it to the dealer to have it checked out but they didnt find any problems. My car has about 4980 miles on it as of earlier today. My KN filter and Ztube were installed around 2K miles so there isnt even 3000 miles on the filter. I do down**** a lot, everytime I can. Sometimes bouncing it up to 5200RPM. I didnt think downshifting had a big effect on gas mileage....

the z tube and filter allow more air to come into the engine. Thus the ecu tells the engine to dump more fuel to meet the increase in air. Thus possible lower gas milage. That being said, I'll have to look at my girlfriends car to see what milage it gets. I installed a z tube and dropped in a K&N around Christmas time so we shall see.
