Unbelievable!

Wow, I am truly amazed. Most of us on here will choose not to get the stealership car wash because its pretty poor job right?
Well I have a black 04 coupe which is a bitch to keep clean and swirl marks have edged in even with me being very carefull and using Zaino etc.
So I call around here to find a good detailer to buff the surface out.
Most places wanted anywhere from $100-200 for the full job and hardly anybody did the "High Speed buffing" which really gets the suface looking smooth.
I called my dealership (Modern Infiniti of Greensboro) and asked what they could do. I expected a high price and so-so job.
To my surprise they offered the service for $75 !
After making sure it was High Speed Buffing and not just a random orbital buffer (Wal-Mart type) and then talking to the guy at the detail shop, I thought I would give them a shot.
Here's the skinny:

car looks Amazing, he got out 80% of the marks, applied wax, compounded the bad areas, blacked the fenderwells, dressed the tires, vacummed the inside, and Totally dressed up the engine bay which looked fantastic.
Not only does the car shine like showroom.................but......and here's the great part.
They even gave me a loaner for the 5 hours they had my car!
Now there's a great dealership experience that I wasnt expecting.

While I don't want anyone else washing my car, you do have to keep in mind that dealerships employ some of the best detailers in your market. Skeptical? Lift the hood on that used '95 Corrolla with 103K miles on it sitting on their lot and notice how the engine bay looks clean as new. Those guys can make a 10 year old turd look morning fresh.

that price is a bargain especially from dealership. i know good detailers around my area cost $100 - $200 also. i gotta check out my local dealers.

Seriously, you guys should at least get a price quote from your dealers if you are looking for this sort of thing.
Maybe they are making so much money off of everything else they can afford to give us cheap detailing!

I too have seen that old corolla with 103K on it, makes it look like is was 103K whilst sitting on a jack!

Dealership details are hit or miss. If they contract out to a third party they are often very good. If it's in house odds are it will be a hack job. Of course there are exceptions to this rule - glad you got your car looking nice.
