G35C Speaker Question

I have the premium bose audio and I have replaced almost all the speakers in my G35C except the rea armrest speakers. I want to replace those also, but before I go and pick out a speaker I wanted to know the size. I have called three dealers and no one knows.

So, if anyone here has replaced the G35 Coupe rear armrest speakers, what size where they/did you replace with and how deep is the mounting depth?

TIA.

I believe they are 6.5" just like the doors.

Re: G35C Speaker Question

For up front I used MB Quart QSD219 powered by a JL Audio 300/2, for the sub I used the Infinity Kappa Perfect 12DVQ with a PPI amp (was going to do the 10w7 with a JL Audio 1000/1 but I liked the name infinity better ). For the rear, I am considering the Boston Z6 if a 6'5" component will fit, or the if 5.25. If it is a 4" I do not yet know. Either way I will use another 2 channel PPI amp. Just need to find out for sure the speaker size.

Re: G35C Speaker Question

i just replaced mine recently, the rears are identical to the doors- 6.5s, they are mounted on a metal bracket. i installed JL 6" coaxials and they were too deep using the bracket, jl has some big magnets, but if you use wood to push them out more they hit the interior panel, so i had to mount them directly to the panel. kinda worked out better, easier to reinstall.

The rear passenger armrest speakers are 6.5" according to the Bose Japan website http://www.bose.co.jp/auto/nissan/skylinecoupe_sys.html

Re: G35C Speaker Question

i did not replace those speakers at rear side panel, cause i think those are too close to you ears and will seen(sound) like everything are come from the rear, they are 6.5 about 3 and half inch deep...s.w.

Re: G35C Speaker Question

Is it difficult to hook up more amps to the system? How do you do this? Are there pre-outs in the head unit and you have to strech a wire from there to where you want the amp(s), or can you go through the Bose amp? Where is the Bose amp located? (I heard it is somewhere in the back...)

Re: G35C Speaker Question

stock amp is located at left side of trunk next to to spare tire, no RCA out for the stock bose, i use hi-lo inline converter, i would've think if you use aftermaket amp, the stock amp will no longer work, but you can just add an amp to power new subs and still keep the stock bose, of course i am not 100 percent positive on that...cause my car lQQK like this right now...s.w.
