30K Service Price.Thoughts?
Here's the quote my dealer gave me for the "necessary" items associated with the 30 k service...
Oil Change 39.95
Balance Tires and check Brakes 19.95
Wiper Replacement 29.95
Air Filter 40.95
In-Cabin Air Filter 90.00
Antifreeze Replacement 86.25
Total 307.05
O.K. so lets review this...
Oil change, I can do myself for a total of $20.00
Balance Tires (THEY GOT ME)
Wipers, come on, rainx blades from walmart $10.00
Air Filter, I have k&N, so I just need to re-charge
In Cabin Air Filter, also can do myself, just need to get the filter and step by step directions again,,,they're on this site omewhere.
Antifreeze (THEY CAN DO THIS TOO)
So I'm lookin at 106.20+tax.
I've read here people paying in excess of 500 dollars what gives? My dealer said he would do the other non essential point checks while it was in also, no charge.

I think you are taking the right approach to this. In my experience, I have only balanced tires when there was an issue.
I never believe them when they say they check all those things. I would be tempted to leave something for them to find and see if they actually look all those things over.
By the way, I also changed the oil in my MT and in the rear diff. at 30K.

I didn't have oil analysis done on the diff or MT oil, but the magnetic plug did have a decent amount of metal grit on it in the diff and the MT was dirtier than I thought it would be. I'm sure it could have gone longer, but I wanted to upgrade to synthetic.
I prefer to change coolant every 2 years because I don't want any corrosion, scaling, or buildup in the passages or radiator. Peace of mind more than anything.
