I am getting one mod with my only extra cash right now. Which has more of an improvement on the car? Is it better to have a little more power or better MM shifting, MPG, etc? I have a 5AT Coupe. (I want the 5/16" because I want to keep the engine cover.)

IMO 5/16" the grounding gear is just for engine dress up.. i had the full kit and didnt notice the difference but i had MT.. got it strictly for looks.. only thing i would want to ground are the window motors.. make those sons of bitches go down faster lol..

+1 for 5/16.. remember you do not need the copper throttle body plate (assuming your still in OC).. and if you need an installer.. PM me

 

I got the gordgee 10 wire kit before the motordyne.
The car shifted much better.
The motordyne you feel alot more...more power, more aggressive sound.
I say get the gordgee first and then the motordyne though.

I only got a couple responses, so I'll just make a poll. Please continue to post if you will.

 

Grounding wires are rice. They don't do squat. All those dyno charts with 1-2 hp gains are ridiculous. Everytime I do 3 pulls on the dyno i get 2-3 hp variance. If you must have wires make your own....it's super easy. Just get some large gauge Monster Cable (available at any stereo shop, circuit city, etc) and some gold connectors. The only tool you'll need is an industrial crimper. I made some for my 350z. Cost outta pocket was about 40 bucks.

 

I wouldn't be looking for the hp gains on the grounding gear because I know there isn't any. I would be looking for faster Manumatic shifting.

 

definately MD - huge increases in the power band that are easily noticeable. well worth it.

 

If you want the spacer, I will be selling mine in a few days as soon as I finish with my S/C install. It is a 5/16 but I am keeping the iso gasket.

 

For an AT the grounding wires were really tempting for me, But I really put them on the back burner for quite some time.

My next set of mods is going to be, Pullies belts, 3.91FD, 10 wire ground, (cams if i have the money)

Having stuff move faster and eletronics work better would be nice.... But I just want the good stuff first (ie power/exhaust note)

 

Spacer! Klumzyee helped me with mine, and I love it! At first, I didnt notice anything... but it was because I was still in break in period, so I couldnt push it. Then I compared it to my brothers car, which he bought later and got the same intake I did. Its really hard to feel the gains, but its OBVIOUS when you listen. My car sounds like it breathes SO much better, and it sounds meaner too!

As for the grounding kit... I dont know too much about it. Hopefully, this weekend, I'll be installing Sun Auto's grounding kit, GT kit, and hyper voltage system. I heard that this entire setup has more of a difference than an intake AND exhaust!!!

I didnt buy into the hype. A good friend of mine recently got hooked up with a sponsorship from Sun Auto, so he got all their goodies on his car. He was thinking that he wouldnt see any difference, and he was just looking for engine dress up... since he has a show car. To his suprise, he felt a huge difference. But again, its not just the grounding kit. He had that before and it didnt do anything. He has their entire line of 350z products (not all shown on their website)... which cost over a grand. Hes a good friend of mine, and hes not selling any hype... and hes not some push-over newb. He said that he thinks its mostly from their hyper voltage system... which doesnt have any direct conections to the grounding kit. I dont know yet, hopefully I'll get mine and install it tomorrow and find out.
