'05 Coupe 19" Tire Wear
'05 Coupe 19" Tire Wear
I just talked to a lady who has an '05 coupe for sale. It is an automatic, has sport suspension and 19" wheels. The car has 16,000 miles on it and she has already had to replace the rear tires. She said the front tires were still good.
Is this normal?

she is getting bad tire wear bc bridgestones have a tire tread rating of 140 this is extremelly soft ie sports tires dont last long at all. I have the same setup with the 19s and i had to change all 4 tires at 10k this is what you get when you buy a sports car. You can get Toyo T1Rs that have a tread rating or 280 or Michelins with the same. They should last a little longer but dont expect much over 20k this is the price you pay to have a sport suspension and having a -.9 camber gives a better handling but bad tire wear.
This has been discussed many times next time do a search.

24K on my original tires... no problems, other than nails
Still got some miles in them, but i do mostly highway driving. I wouldn't have to change them but the nails in two of my tires are pretty bad. I push my car kind of hard, but no crazy burn outs. I do slide the car with the VDC off sometimes (50ft drifts), and spirited canyon roads periodically. Not bad for high performance tires.
I have the 19's. You're probably just worried about abuse since the tires are worn out so fast. Not unheard of to hear changes to the tires at 10-15K. Get higher tread wear rated tires, you sacrifice some performance or pay more, but should all work out in the end.
