will beat an M3 after next mod....
i just installed my borla cat-back and it made a big difference in performance.. with my intake, this thing now breaks loose when i shift into second and third.. i wish the exhaust was a little louder though.. eveyone says it sounds really sweet, but what can you say, i am a fanatic.. i am taking my g to the track next week.. should run between 13.75 and 13.85... when i install the borla headers. this car should run with an m3..hopefully it will be a little louder when i install the headers. but my other cars never got any louder when i put headers on them.. you never know
Re: will beat an M3 after next mod....
sorry buddy but i think the M3 will still have u. U might have closed the gap but u gotta remember those things are extremly fast. I think we will all need turbos to take down the M3. But hey prove me wrong
Re: will beat an M3 after next mod....
Doesn't E46 M3 have 1/4 time of low to mid 13s? I heard some doing even high 12s..
IMHO i don't think headers, exhaust, intake will decrease our 1/4 by much.. maybe in total.. like somewhere like 10rwhp. I saw this month's import tuner and their 350z only gained 4 rwhp from intake, grounding, exhaust..
Unless we do some turbo or supercharge.. I saw they own us...

Re: will beat an M3 after next mod....
yea keep in mind that the G is heavier than the m3, so therefore u will need a lot more than 333 hp (what the m3 has) to come close to takin it...if i had a g, i would want to keep it n/a and get all the power i could before going FI
Re: will beat an M3 after next mod....
Intake, exhaust, and header will not help the qtr mile as much as some people think. You are probably getting somewhere in the neighborhood of 12 horses to the wheel, which is significant, but not enough to move your qtr mile by around 0.7 seconds since the M3 does the qtr in the low 13s.......depending on the driver of course.
Don't get me wrong, those mods will make a difference in performance.....

Re: will beat an M3 after next mod....
lol your a little overconfident....I seen to many ppl like you that put on I/H/E and think it will drop thier 1/4 by more than a sec...and start saying they can beat faster cars

lets put it this way, with the disappointing results of the G procharger, with that installed, it will be a drivers race against the m3.
what does this mean? for the price of all the doodads on your G (after procharger install), you could have bought a low mileage used m3 with smg and nav.

Not to burst your bubble but it is possible to lay a 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear scratch with a STOCK 6MT. With VDC off of course! Congrats on the new cat back.
Re: will beat an M3 after next mod....
I doubt u will beat one either, ur forgeting that the M3 revs hi like the RX-8, well not that hi but u know what i mean i believe its like 8K. all ur gonna get is a slighter free flowing engine, possibly about tops 8 to 10 WHP, as most said. With the regular I/H/E, u will need a lighter flywheel to let u rev faster and some kind of force induct. Jus not possible to beat a M3. My brother has a supercharge 328i with other mods and still cant beat my freinds stock 04 M3, our Gs got power but dont have the RPMs to run with a M3 IMO. but would luv for u to really beat one with proof.

Re: will beat an M3 after next mod....
8 to 10 whp with I/H/E ???? I hope its more than that otherwise it aint worth the money and time. Im putting on Stilen High Flow Box, 350Z intake Duck, borla headers and exhaust and the crawford plenum, and then the tecknosquare ecu combined with 94 octane fuel. Im hoping I'll get around 320hp at the crank with all of that. Does it seem feasible ?? With that I still wont beat an M3, but the M3 should definatelly break a good sweat beating me.
